don't hold your breathReader comment on item: Turkey's Stance on NATO Expansion Is "Blackmail" Submitted by David (United States), May 15, 2022 at 18:58 Unfortunately, I would not expect the Biden administration to be firm at all on this question, contrary to the author's assessment a few months ago that they would be "tough on Erdogan." Ah, so tough that they are selling him F-16s now. Of course it would be wonderful to see them get tough but they won't. And along those lines, it would be nice to see the USA stop betraying the Kurds, who were at the forefront of the fight against ISIS but were tossed to the wolves. If any people in the Mideast that are currently stateless, deserve a rectification of this injustice, it is them. But geopolitics is not based on justice, it is based on interests. And the focus on the Russo/Ukraine war at the expense of any other consideration, has tradeoffs. Including with regard to Turkey.
