Expulsion from NATO may have to waitReader comment on item: Turkey's Stance on NATO Expansion Is "Blackmail" Submitted by Dave (United States), May 15, 2022 at 19:26 That's good advice about expelling Turkey from NATO, but that requires a lot of firmness and a willingness to acknowledge that a hard-line Islamist state is ideologically too toxic to be considered a reliable ally. There's no way that the weak and indecisive Biden administration is capable of such hard-headed thinking, especially when it comes to understanding Islamism and its long-term entrenchment prospects in Turkey. Given the way political trends are going, however, a more conservative administration will probably be elected down the road, and then Turkey's membership days may be numbered.
