Turkiye's Timing Examined - Fortuitous or Foreboding - Objectives Not Met Not Expected to be Forfeited

We read of Dr. Pipes' mention of Turkiye's PM Erdoğan's intersection of politcal diplomacy in the Ukrainian episode of potential catastrophic military action after the Russian began amplifying his message of doom and disaster to those who dare challenge his intentions of being ruler of is expanded former Soviet empire; and the timng is exquisite.
So, if Turkiye succeeds in allaying (needs to be more than delaying) the Russian's intentions to do more damage than already done, what does PM Erdoğan have in expectations of his own ambitions and what might he bargain for if he is successful in his proffer to negotiate some arrangement that keeps *everyone at bay. Be assured, the Russian's ambitions are not going away any time soon and NATO has limited (if any) options to keep this situation under any rational control. That time is long past.
Does this present the possibility that Turkiye's posture in NATO is now being reevaluated and that alliance is now being strengthened? Does Dr. Pipes' cautionary tale of PM Erdoğan's motives now comes into play?
