"Evin House Of Detention"Reader comment on item: Denmark Leads the West to Immigration Sanity Submitted by Robert Blumenblatt (United States), Nov 2, 2022 at 00:36 My quote of the title above is meant to emphasize an irony. This title is taken directly from the entrance to the prison which is in English. I can only assume that the Arabic script above it is this name in the Iranian language. Why would Iran bother to post the name in English? Is English the second language of Iran (I doubt it)? Although the title of this article informs us (together with the text below) that subject involves Civilizationism or Civilization (Political) Parties, particularly in the European Union, in fact this notion goes back to 1993 and Huntington's article titled "Clash of Civilizations" involving Islam and the West. However, the turn of events in the 1990s went another way, first by way of China, and the expression used by scholars was "Civilization State." This first example depict an Empire with a unique culture and history and a sphere of influence involving lesser neighbors (or state-lets). In that context Iran itself is a Civilization State and is attempting to control the entities within its own sphere of influence. The same goes for the Russian Federation, which also is deemed to be a Civilization State assuming to control its domain which includes Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, etc. So where's the Irony? It is displayed on the entrance to the door to its infamous nation prison - showing the fact that the United States of America Nation State has infiltrated or corrupted Iran; why does Iran wish to use the language of the Big Satan on its prison door? For whatever reason, it appears that its own identity can only be expressed in counter-distinction to the USA. Back to the topic of this article - in the ideology I've outlined above, the Civilizational Parties - including that in Denmark - are emerging as those of the Civilization State of the European Union, to put it simply. PS: (As I noted before) Although "Civilizationism" remains a neologism, "Civilization State" has a Wikipedia article devoted to it explicitly, and the bibliography show reputable scholars using this latter expression.
