Civilizationism v. NationalismReader comment on item: Europe's Jews vs. Israel Submitted by Robert (United States), Nov 5, 2022 at 13:32 At the time (2019) I wrote my commentary above i was not aware of the emergence in history of the notion of Civilizationism that now is rather conspicuous on the Web. I wish to note here that you have been studying the continuous emergence of Civilizationist (Political) Parties, often described as Right Wing with a sordid past connections to Fascism, etc. But that's what happening in Europe, particularly the EU on a Local lever. On the Global level we see the rise of the Civilization State, possibly the first example (it is allegedly rooted in Neo-Confucianism). Accordingly, regarding Jews and Israel, I wish to observe the natural or logical consequence that Israel, and its Zionist ideology represents the emergence and unfolding of the Jewish Civilization State (and whose Sovereign borders have not yet been set). But where does that leave the Jews of the Diaspora? Unfortunately, not in a good place for Jews on the Left; Jews on the Right, on the other hand, are potential Israelis who merely happen to live abroad. But the demographic cohort of Jews in the world can be better described by identifying those who support the Jewish Civilization State (of Israel) by three (3) groupings: 1) Hasidim (particularly the Lubavitcher), 2) Orthodox, and 3) those Jews who will or may immigrate to Israel and thereby become instant citizens thereof. That leaves the unfortunate cohort of Leftist, Liberal, Progressive, and Secular Jews who "naturally" find themselves exposed to the new Antisemitism of the "Protocols of Zion." You, Dr. Daniels, in one of your articles, point out the positive side of this cohort ("Philosemitism"), that it produces the greatest number of Nobel Laureates per capita even though the Jews of the world comprise less than 1% of the human population of the world. But you restricted yourself merely to the Nobel Prize. Take every possible field. For example, in American Music, Jews played a major part, out-sizing their demographic statistics. In fact, about 1920 auto industrialist Antisemite Henry Ford, in his newspapers serialization, "The International Jew," accused the Jews for Jazz. Regarding a very recent Black Antisemitic even, illiterate Ye (aka Kanye West) claimed that Jews can't dance. Apparently, he's ignorant about the world greatest universally recognized dancer - Fred Astaire. It turns out that Astaire's grandfather was a German Jew (this fact is readily confirmed by Wikipedia on Fred's bio). I have this crazy idea of re-writing "The Protocols" from a Philosophic perspective. It was Napoleon Bonaparte who positively introduced meritocracy to Europe as an aspect of the French Revolution. However, he did not do that smoothly - he put the Jews on public trial first to see if they were worthy of French citizenship; he effectively introduced a "civil service" exam, which the notable Jews of France answered well, and prior Haskalah Jews entered French civil society. Thereafter, Prussian Prince Bismark, when he created the (modern) German Empire introduced the Prussian aristocracy's civil service tradition to the rest of Germany, and in it there was no longer a legal disability for Jews to enter German society. It was in this atmosphere that Karl Marx became an intellectual expounding his economic theory in his textbook, "Das Capitol." Although Karl's father converted Marx to Protestantism (allegedly for economic reasons) it is this allegedly "Jewish" ideology (Communism) adopted by the Soviet Union, China, etc. I hypothesize that the appropriate Paradigmatic, or Dialectical (Hegelian) response to Antisemitism is Philosemitism with pride. It is time that Jews assert openly their Exceptionalism. For example, that at the roots of Christianity and Islam is Judaism. It is these facts which make the "Goy" or "Goyim" feel "inferior" unconsciously. I urge the reader to search and read or re-read the "antisemitism" article posted here by Dr. Daniel Pipes, and to elaborate on the excellent observations he makes therein.
