Azerbaijan–Israel Relations - Excellent!

Reality sometimes is stranger than fiction. Even though Azerbaijan is Muslim country, it is not Arab, and it is very concerned about its neighbor Iran. Azerbaijan is a better ally of Israel than Muslim Turkey, Armenia is extremely close to Russia, mostly because it is Muslim and against Turkey. Azerbaijan has been an ally of Israel since 1992 after it broke away from the Soviet Union, and Israel was one of the first countries that recognized its independence. It is also quite secular, probably a legacy of being a part of the Soviet Union and before that the Russian Empire. There is also the Energy factor (Oil to Israel) and Security factor (weapons against Russia and Iran).
