Tabula Rasa

To further fortify Doctor Pipe's analysis, one of Sharon's sheep has made the comment that Kadima Party is starting with a clean sheet of paper, a Tabula Rasa. Upon this Tabula Rasa the Leader, and only Him, will place his chess pieces for the march to capture the crown. It is the essence of escapism, this start with a clean sheet.

the Kadima party (as in Avanti, Mussolini 1932) is composed wholly of individuals whose ideas cannot be categorised, who have always been somewhat marginal and untrusted in their previous ideaological parties. They all claim to have joined Sharon for the Way he leads, but actually it is for his steam-roller capabilities amply demonstrated in the destruction wreaked on Gush Katif, and even more significantly, upon the Jewish villages in Samaria. Kadima is immensely popular with those who are frustrated with the deadlock, those looking for some kind of a definitve surgery to be performed on persons who do have ideaology. Kadima is the quintessential antidote to firm ideaology and belief.

There is no region in the world which is less like a Tabula Rasa. Each and every stone, hill, mesa or valley has been trodden on, hewn, turned over, cultivated, destroyed, and recultivated by History. The attempt to coat it over with a Tabula Rasa is laughable, it can be only be attempted by persons whose mind is devoid of any ideas, besides political aspirations. That does not include Sharon, but then no one know what passes through Sharon's mind.

Sharon, by forming this party has escaped the clutches of Democracy, the Likud version, which is eminently Israeli, and is now steam-rolling the political landscape on the self-appointed road to the crown of dictatorship. On the other hand, since he is the only driver of this steam-roller, his failure, either politically, or naturally... will assure the demise of this Tabula Rasa overnight. Being essentially empty, no one will miss it.
