Bible Believers and Israel / IslamReader comment on item: The Bible's Role in American Support for Israel Submitted by Major Jeff White (United States), Sep 5, 2006 at 14:46 If I told you I were Jesus Christ, you would be under no compulsion to believe me. And yet, it is argued that since the god Allah purports to be the same as the God Jehovah, as he is known to Christians, or the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and jacob, the great "I am," that God above all other gods. George Bush says he is. I say, he is not. We are under no compulsion to believe Islamic claims that Allah is the same God as the god of the Bible - and indeed, he can not be. When Allah contradicts the one God of Judaism, (as Jesus never did), he removes himself from the Judeo-Christian tradition and establishes himself as another god. the Jews at the time of Muhammed dismissed his claim to be a prophet, based no his inability to meet the clear standard which every prophet of Israel has met. Mohammed was never a true prophet at all - his new god is therefore not the God. The God of the Bible is forgiving - Allah is not. Our God is a God of second chances, Allah is not. The God of the Bible is one in which people believe voluntarily in this life - but Allah commands obedience through coercion which is a part of the Qur'an. (incidentally, that so-called Christian god who commanded conversions or death in the Middle Ages was not God either - how could he be?) The God of the Bible is not willing that any should perish, but wants all to come to repentance. His edict of repentance or death is a spiritual one, and one which clearly is violated daily - but with no immediate physical consequences (nor indeed, any apparent consequences for many who disobey Him). The real God gives us our choices and our lives and allows us to be disobedient. Allah, as understood by the fundamentalists of Islam, does no such tolerant or merciful thing. Allah is NOT God - and Mohammed is no prophet, but is forever damned, according to the Scriptures. To say otherwise may be expedient in a political sense, and may seem friendly and wise and tolerant - but it is eternal death to all who are misled thereby. There is only one name under heaven whereby ye must be saved - only one name above all names. That name is the name of Jesus the Christ, the only begotten of the Father, the son of the living God - to whom every knee will one day bow. I just stake my name and life on that - and will say it clearly to anyone who will listen. And you can kill me for it, if you want to, but I will not recant, nor forsake, nor ever forget what he did for me at Calvary. May the Lord open your eyes to the truth of His love and desire for you to be saved.
