Base of Operations?Reader comment on item: President Bush Replies to My Iraq Critique Submitted by Kevin M (United States), Oct 26, 2006 at 15:31 So, we have to keep the Islamists from using Iraq as a launchpad for strikes against the US and its allies and possessions? What about Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the Emirates, Qatar, Iran, Libya and the less-patrolled areas of Afghanistan? It just seems to me that the Islamists have so successfully permeated every corner of the world that using them as a justification for military ops in any specific country is like giving yourself a master key to the whole hotel. Islamism, in my humble opinion (which developed during my four-year stint in Saudi Arabia), is rooted in...SAUDI ARABIA! They are the sponsors of this particular brand of idiocy, and it is they who should be made to wake up and smell the modernity of the planet. Iraq, frankly, is a sad digression from the real problem.
