My average American's opinionReader comment on item: How the West Could Lose Submitted by kid bertha (United States), Jun 12, 2007 at 16:19 Major Dave, I thank you for your very informative message about the global war we currently face. I would like to add some opinions and make some statements of my own to this issue. I think there is a hugely significant fact that all here on the board have neglected to point out, and when understood and accepted by all, it should reveal the truth a little better. This is the fact: Islam is the only religion EVER on earth that has at its core a belief system that teaches violence and victory through conquest of all infidels. They even kill other fellow Muslims who do not conform to their version of Islam. The Quran specifically talks hatred to all Jews, Chritians, and non-muslims. Muslim women are treated like slaves. How could anyone in their right mind believe this is a religion of peace? More important now than ever, is for the entire world to wake up and recognize the threat of Radical Islam. My basic point I want to make clear is the fact that such a huge percentage of Americans are not aware that Radical Islam is nothing new. What is happening in the Middle East and around the world now is just a revival of the likes of the Ottoman Empire. In the last 60 years (since the establishment of the state of Israel), Radical Islam has resurfaced and is gaining momentum faster than any other faith in the world. This is not something to deny or hide from. These people have no value for human life. None. They believe salvation is only attainable by doing Jihad and becoming a martyr in the name of Allah. If you do not see the growing threat from a rapidly growing extremist group who teaches its kindergarten children that America is the Great Satan and is willing to turn these innocent children into suicide bombers, then you are 100% delusional. Even more scary than anything I said above is the means by which Radical Islam is succeeding in spreading its hate ideology around the world, especially in our great country America. They are using our freedom and democracy to their advantage. They recognize the way our basic freedoms and legal system ultimately make us vulnerable to the kind of deceptive thinking they are behind. Think back to the peace negotiations former President Jimmy Carter tried to make with the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979. The result was the Islamic Revolution of Iran, which led to the American hostage crisis in Iran and the attack on U.S. "freedom fighters" (Lebanese Christians and non-Muslims all called U.S. troops real freedom fighters back then) in Lebanon during the Lebanese civil war. What a joke it was when Carter said the Ayatollah was a holy man, a Ghandi-like firure. How absurd. Shame on the former president. This was the most dangerous mistake America ever made. Then Clinton tried to talk peace with Yassar Arafat, which was equally as noneffective and irresponsible as Carter. My point is this: you can not trust any peace deal with any Muslim leader today. The Muslim religion has been infiltrated by radicals and they are in power. History has proved over and over again that they tell you one thing and go right back to their people and preach the opposite message, "Death to the West and to America." They are using our political correctness to advance their cause in our Universaties and libraries. Our youth and college kids are being exposed to Radical Islam all over the country. The most important thing for all Americans to understand is this: Radical Islam is not just some new cause that will try and fail and go away. Just the opposite. Radical Islam is here to stay and it will only continue to grow. They have no time table for establishing their Caliphate here in America. It is their patience, or better put, their staying power, that is their strength. Now is the time for all American citizens to stand up for the traditional American values of life that have made us the most prosperous and peaceful nation on earth. I pray that America's youth will be strong in the Holy War that is ahead of us. I am a non-denominational Christian. I am a "middle of the road" Conservative on almost every issue facing our great nation. However, I am very concerned that our political correctness is going to be the demise of our democracy as we know it. They are here, they are just hard to see because they are plotting very carefully for the next strike.
