To Responding Liar. Lesson on Lying and The Lies and Deceptions of Obama.Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood Submitted by Sofa Sogood (United States), May 29, 2008 at 02:18 I honestly don't know why I'm bothering to answer you. The answers to your questions and opinions are within Dr. Pipes article and have been reiterated many times over on this blog by many people. "Do you reallly...still is a die hard Muslim ever since his childhood whose plan has always been to become President of the USA and destroy it from the inside after that?" No. And that's a very deliberate ridiculously framed question. It's what you'd like to believe to support your views. Are you so thick headed that you don't get what people are saying? To Repeat. 1. For most people writing here, it's a very important issue that he lied about his background. He did so clearly for political purposes. It's a very bad and wrong thing to do. He seems to think it's for him to judge and to "rule" on what should or should not be important enough for voters to know about his background, because he's an intellectual bully who considers himself and his opinions "superior" to the voters. Obviously, you agree and think his, your and others lies are perfectly okay. That's your choice. It's not mine. Especially not when it concerns the background of a possible President. Further evidence of his dishonesty is as follows: 2. He is being extremely dishonest about what his intentions are for when he becomes President. He has anti-American motives. It's not decisive, but is revealing taking his otherwise apparent views into account, that the book he's chosen to read this week is entitled, "The Post-American World." (He'd be much better off brushing up on American and World History, as he seems extremely lacking on the subject -- but then, facts are of so little interest to him.) Although the idea of an Anti-American President may be extremely unimportant to you, or you might even like it, it's kind of important to most Americans. (I won't go into the evidence which has been shown many times on this blog, none of it relating to his being "born" a Muslim.) This is further evidence that he is not only dangerous, but dangerously dishonest. 4. He's trying to pretend that he's Pro-Israel. All of his past associations and advisors are clearly Anti-Israel. Some of his past statements, as opposed to his current bluster, show that he is no friend to Israel. He persists in throwing a (transparent to anyone who takes an honest look at it) blanket over the facts, and gullible people believe his fancy speeches. He has no right to disinform regarding his biases, with the intention of deceiving the voters who wouldn't vote for him if they knew. For instance, Ron Paul made no bones about his biases -- inlcuding Anti-Israel. People who didn't agree with him, didn't vote for him. Obama will say whatever it takes in order to win, regardless of its relation to the truth of his beliefs. But voters have a right to know the beliefs and intentions of who they are voting for. You obviously don't think this charade is important, or maybe you think it's terrific. For us, it's dangerously dishonest. 3. Obama's connections to Islam through the connections to Islam of his Pastor, Rev.Wright, and both of their connections to Farrakhan, plus his family connections, plus his support of an Islamist rebel movement in Kenya, plus his own words and actions (which I won't go into here) which show a bias toward Islam, are not appropriate to a U.S. President at this point in time -- if ever. Also, he tries to hide and deny and twist the meaning of these connections -- more dangerous dishonesty. 4. The Pope's connections to the Hitlerjugend -- It would be stupid not to at least wonder if a person's childhood influences continued to have an affect on his thinking and opinions. It's only natural to wonder, and some people have. However, unlike Obama, who still has many connections to Islam and various radicals, the Pope no longer has any connections with Nazis or groups that admire the Nazis. On the contrary he has passionately condemned them. He, unlike Obama has discussed his Hitlerjugend background openly. If he had denied it, and evidence came out later, it would be a very negative reflection on his character. Your making this silly comparison is tiresome. 5. If you didn't think Obama was running against Bush, why on earth would you bring that up? If he gets the nomination, he will be running against McCain. That's the choice involved. Whether you think Obama would be better than Bush is an irrelvant topic, and is only an excuse for you to bring your dislike or probably more likely, hatred of Bush, into a converstion where it has no place. 6. The British people were promised a vote on the Lisbon Treaty. Their government lied to them and has pushed it through without their vote. This Treaty will deny citizens of the individual nations of the EU their say in many, many laws which are going to be passed. You probably don't think that lie is important either. We here in America believe we have a sacred right to vote based on open information about our politicians, their backgrounds, beliefs, policies and intentions. Europeans are lazy and confused, and as long as they are taken care of, they are happy to rely on the Mommie and Daddy State to baby them and tell them what to do and to think. Then they try to belittle Americans to make themselves feel better. They have lost all sense of what's important, which is why you don't think Obama's lies matter. 7. American people have the right to know everything about the background, beliefs, and intentions of a Presidential candidate. Obiously, none of this duplicity is important to you. You're very quick with the word "ignorance." Look to yourself. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
