Thanks for your (finally) sincere response. You deserve respect for it.

I'm glad I didn't put the effort into writing my response to you for nothing.

It's good to hear when a European these days is willing to say that they are, if at least not entirely Pro, not Anti-American. Although you may disagree at times with the choices the American Government makes, try to double-check your biased media which only gives you the information that supports their views, and leaves out the rest of the story. We have that problem here as well, but not so severe as in Europe. Also, a lot of European animosity towards the US comes from unrealistic demands of perfection.

With all its "faults," which nation, I wonder, would the critical Europeans suppose would have been a better, more generous leader, for one would always rise to power. One of the Euro nations? The EU? China? The Soviets? Present day Russia?

In minute one, Euros gush.

In minute two, the questions come.

In minute three, they express concern (if they think you too might as well and so can be candid).

In minute four, you sense they understand there is only one EU.

So should the US become one too, they worry about who might play the US to the US?

In a sick way this speaks well of Obama. By his intent to turn the US into something like the EU, he is scaring some elites in the EU as never before.

There can only be one socialist union. It requires a capitalist wide-open trading partner and a Nato-like ally to offer it free defense as well as an easy target for cheap invective. So the Europeans hint, "Please, don't become quite like us--we need you as you are."

If I were you, I'd be up in arms and protesting about the following

Racism includes Islamophobia, according to numerous EU documents. Which means that Islamophobia will soon be treated as a crime as serious as rape and armed robbery across most of the European continent.

EU authorities can arrest a person in, say, Denmark or Italy, who has published a cartoon that could be considered offensive to Islam. He or she will then be quietly handed over to the authorities in Algeria, Egypt or Jordan.

Remember that blasphemy against Islam potentially carries the death penalty according to sharia.

EU should harmonize the education and legal systems with the Mediterranean partner countries within the coming decade. This is being negotiated as we speak, behind our [European] backs.

An entire continent, the cradle of the greatest civilization mankind has ever seen, is to be culturally dismantled and turned into an obedient dumping ground for demographic warfare by its Islamic enemies. Those among the indigenous peoples who object to this will be harassed, and opposition to these policies will be banned by law.

Multiculturalism in Europe is thus reaching its openly totalitarian phase.

While you live there day to day, and perhaps don't notice the step-by-step changes, the signs can more easily been seen from a distant perspective. I'm very saddened to see what is becoming of Europe.
