Western ApologistsReader comment on item: Democrats Unlearn 9/11 Submitted by BobMikan (United States), Jan 7, 2004 at 11:15 Western governments and media have been apologizing for Islam for hundreds of years. The Balkan Wars, World War 1, to today's middle east crisis - all linked to the Islamic desire to control and expand. Today this has widened into a worldwide onslaught on all non-islamic culture. Through our pink eyeglasses we color the atrocities of Islamic leadership in a forgiving light because we fear being called religous bigots. How can people who pray five times a day be bad - how indeed? But Religion is at the heart of it. Islam is governed by an aristocracy who use their religion to consolidate power and establish governments under their direct control. There were bright spots among that aristocracy in years past, but today's Islamic aristocracy is evil and dangerous to world peace. Muslims have traditionally solved their problems by murdering leaders with whom they disagree on interpretations of the Koran. When a scholar or imam sees his understanding of Koran questioned he knows his time is short. What the west needs are truly brilliant theologeans who can make strong religous arguments against Islamic policy and cast doubt into the minds of ordinary muslims. This is precisely what Islam is doing to western culture and religion - repay them. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
