A tale of two EnglandsReader comment on item: When Osama bin Laden Becomes PC Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Jan 28, 2004 at 06:03 England is not at all as people perceive it abroad: a nation of conservative gentlemen who support the USA any time there is a problem. England/Britain is the most PC nation on planet earth. Don't be deceived by right-wing publications such as The Spectator and The Daily Telegraph: England/Britain is just as PC as it gets. You could never do your job in London because you would be charged under Race Relations, the highest point of PC nonsense. The first triumph of English/British left-wing extremism was the so-called Battle of Cable Street of 1934. In that instance, the Union of British Fascists were beaten up as they tried to march in the East End of London. I have no sympathy for fascists. However, British left-wingers are fascists.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
