PC AfganistanReader comment on item: When Osama bin Laden Becomes PC Submitted by donvan (United States), Feb 13, 2004 at 11:32 I understand that Afganistan has a Constitution in place -- a Constitution which establishes Afganistan as an Islamic state. Why would the US help establish a nation which can, practically, now never become a Democracy? For the US to assist in the establishment of a Theocracy which will eventually and surely become radicalized once again by a Talibanisque group is surreal. The fact that the majority is currently Muslim does not mean that Islam will always be the ideology in that country, except that it now does mean exactly that. It means that we have provided to the Taliban the legitimacy they seek.
