Zabour and ZuburReader comment on item: More on the Muslim Claim to Jerusalem Submitted by sTs (United Arab Emirates), Dec 4, 2008 at 07:10 Another newspaper Although Al-Zabour in singular form is used in 3 verses and only 2 of them were connected to the Great Prophet of God David, it shall be noted below that it means a scripture or a book. The plural form Al Zubur is used to indicate the scriptures that were send on the previous people such as the Torah and Ingeel and Psalm and other Holy books that were sent on many Messengers of God, including Noah, Abraham, David and many others. The original Jewish Pentateuch are those of Moses (The five books), they are the pillars of Judaism. The meaning of the word Al-Zabour is disputed - Also Zabour is singular and Zubur is Plural, Some people argue that it is the Psalm, others say that it means a scripture, a book, The proof that it means a scripture or a book, is in below analysis Here are the verses in the Quran in singular form Underlined. It is very interesting to note the the word Zabour come with an (a) not with a definitive (the) in the two verses connected to Prophet David (pbuh) and the third one with (the) but not connected to Prophet David. 3 verses (Quran 4:163) "Verily, We have sent inspirations (revelations) to you (Muhammad) as We have inspired to Noah and the Prophets after him; We (also) have inspired to Abrahim, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, And the offsprings of the twelve sons of Jacob, Jesus, Job, Joseph, Aaron, Solomon; and to David, We gave a Zabour (A Scripture, a Book) (Quran 17:55) "And your Lord knows best all who are in the heavens and the earth. And indeed, We have preferred some of the Prophets above others, and to David We gave a Zabour (A Scripture, a Book) (Quran 21:105) "And indeed We have written in the Zabour (in the revealed Book) after the reavealed Message, that "My rightious servants shall inherit the Earth"" You can see in the first two verse it does not indicate the Psalm, otherwise the word (the) would have been used instead of (a) and the third verse does not mention Prophet David Here are the references from the Quran for the Word Al-Zubur in plural form Underlined which indicate books, scriptures - 6 verses (Quran 3:184) "Then if they reject you (Muhammad), so were Messengers rejected before you, who came with clear evidence (proofs, signs) and the Zubur (scriptures) and the Book of Enlightenment" (Quran 16:43-44) "And We sent not (as Our Messengers) before you (Muhammad), any but men, whom We sent revelation (to preach and invite mankind to believe in the Oneness of God). So (You, pagans of Makkah) ask those who know (learned men of the Torah and Ingeel) the Scripture, if you know not"[] "Clear signs and Zubur (books) and We have sent unto you the Dhikr (The Quran), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought" (Quran 26:191-196) "And verily your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful" [] "And Truly, This (Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds" [] "Which was brought down by the trustworthy spirit (Archangel Gabriel)" [] Upon your heart (Muhammad) that you may be (one) of the warners" [] In plain clear Arabic Language" [] And verily (The Quran & Muhammad) it is in the Zubur (Scriptures, ie. Torah & Ingeel) of former people" (Quran 25:35) "And if they reject you (Muhammad), those before rejected, clear signs and Zubur were brought to them by their Messengers and the Book of Enlightenment" (Quran 54:43) "(O Quraysh) are your disbelievers better than these (Nations of Noah, Lot, Salih, Pharoah people who were destroyed?) or you have an immunity (against our torment) in the Zubur (Divine Scriptures)" (Quran 54:50-52) "And Our Commandment is but one as the twinkling of an eye" [] "And indeed We have destroyed your likes; then is there any that will remember (admonition)" [] "And everything they have done is noted in the Zubur (their Record books)" Submitting....
