Potentially Catastrophic American Administrative Error for Not Remembering that Israel's Strength is America's StrengthReader comment on item: Obama and Netanyahu Meet: What's Next? Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), May 28, 2009 at 14:00 As the true meaning of the intentions of the Obama administration's stand on Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem are made more evident, we can see more clearly that the impasse between President Obama and PM Netanyahu is going to be the cause of the United States of America's downfall in the Middle East. The United States is under pressure from the Arab interests to establish the pseudo-Palestinian state on terms that Israel cannot accede to without violating Israel sovereignty irrevocably. Simply put, the 'Palestinian' position to gain more territory at the expense of Israel apparently has the stamp of the current American administration's approval, no matter the cost to Israel, or America for that matter. The crisis building circumstance highlighted at the moment is centered on the settlement issue; the United States has demanded that all settlement activity cease with the Israeli government dissenting over the exact meaning of the demand. The 'Palestinian' position of no new settlement activity thereby has American political pressure and it remains to be seen how the American administration will force the issue. Couple this with the increasing Iranian nuclear threat, the new Iranian presence in the waters around the Strait of Hormuz with no immediate response and the United States caught in the shortly-to-be-realized line of fire between Israel and her enemies; what will happen next is likely to shatter the relations between Israel and the United States of America if the American administration does not realize the deadly mistake and adopt the proper defensive position around the sovereignty of the Israeli state. Failure in this will mean failure of the greatest responsibility the United States has in world diplomacy, and no amount of armed superiority, nuclear or otherwise, will be able to defend against the results of that.
