Nations Rise and Fall Throughout History at the Will of Almighty God - Seek the Truth of Almighty God for Personal UnderstandingReader comment on item: Obama and Netanyahu Meet: What's Next? Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jun 15, 2009 at 19:49 Like the Jewish people, who are the apple of their Almighty God's eye, a people who are not willing to continue in devotion and obedience to the Holy WORD of the LORD are still subject to judgment for sin. An earlier example comes from the Book of the prophet Jonah, who tells us of his mission to the people of Nineveh to seek their repentance. He did so after first objecting and refusing to obey. The Ninevites repented and were spared the first judgment, only later to be destroyed completely for later iniquities. The early Persians were indeed friendly, even initially obedient to the Word of the LORD as Cyrus was, actually being named in Isaiah as a great help to the Jewish people. But even so, they did not continue in obedience and were found in their iniquities, to be destroyed according to the prophet Daniel as the successive empires worked out their destinies in Asia and the Middle East. As for the al-Andalus, their destiny was determined before their judgment by their attitude toward all who were not submissive to the Quran, that if dhimmitude was accepted by the subject non-Muslim population(whether Christian or Jewish in varying degrees), then a relatively peaceful co-existence was tolerated. History records that afterwards the Spanish inquisition put an end to that, not because the Jews were the enemies expelling the Muslims, but the Spaniards. In the modern day, several national entities have been 'friendly' to the Jewish population, and to a limited extent, the nation of Israel. But in the Biblical analysis, friendly does not necessarily mean totally in concert with the blessing and curse provision that many in America hope will provide cover for America's divided attitude toward Israel, the same as it was in Lebanon. The zealousness attributed to the Hebrew Holy Sovereign is attributed to His Holiness, that no sin is left unjudged, not for a Jewish person nor a gentile. All are sinners before a just Almighty God, thus the need for a Savior out of His grace and mercy. A Jewish person needs His Messiah for salvation every bit as much as anyone else, such that believing in Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ on an individual and personal basis is the only way to escape judgment. So too, anyone not Jewish needs that same salvation in Jesus Christ to avert the wrath to come. One will see that in the judgments of history there were those individuals who believed that were saved from eternal judgment, even though their lives in the mortal realm were finished. In the final analysis, that is the ultimate means to understand why there is a personal need for having Jesus Christ as Savior, to be in His will, no matter what happens in history, either ancient (like Esther), or contemporary (believing evangelical Christians). When the final crisis explodes in the Middle East and America is taken to task for alienating Israel in the end, the nation will have been judged, but the believing individuals will be held in the mercy of their salvation in Jesus Christ.
