Obama's Hectoring & What It Portends For IsraelReader comment on item: U.S. to Israel: You Decide Nukes in Iran, We Decide Bedrooms in Jerusalem Submitted by Adina Kutnicki (Israel), Jul 8, 2009 at 09:46 What is truly astonishing is not that Washington-particularly under Obama-is behaving like an out of control tyrant with Israeli leaders, (yet incredibly not kicking around the actual dictators in our midst) but that Israel's leaders accept such humiliating and condescending treatment. It is as if they have signs on their backs saying KICK ME, KICK ME harder. While the civilized world watches aghast as Obama cozies up to all manner of third world tyrants, one would think that such mendacious, anti-democratic behavior would give Israel's leaders the spine to tell Washington to bug off, that building kindergartens within their communities is NONE of their damn business.Yet aside from Lieberman, Eldad and a few others, the ones with the real power in Israel are eerily silent, if not subservient. Their silence says alot more about them than it does about Obama's mendacious interference. At the end of the day reasonable people can expect that Israel will be left to deal with Iran on its own. There is little reason to expect that a man like Obama, whose DNA is inextricably linked with the most vile thugs in the world, will not lift a hectoring finger to help Israel survive. Not one damn finger!
