Lorraine Ali is exactly what we needReader comment on item: Lorraine Ali, the Worst Political Reporter in America? Submitted by Ted (United States), Jun 13, 2010 at 01:30 Dear Dr Pipes: You had an update on June 13, 2010 on Lorraine Ali indicating that she is supporting Niqab for muslim women in America. Lorraine Ali might be the worst political reporter in America and she might also be an apologogists for Islam but I believe that she is exactly what we need. There is a reason for what I am saying here. I believe that even though Islam is claimed to be the fastest growing religion of the world, it is breaking and bending under its own contradictions. I did some research on Lorraine Ali. She herself does not wear a Niqab or any such thing. Looking at her it appears that she is unlikely to wear one if her life depended on it. But she is still supporting that women should wear Niqab. I think this is exactly the catharsis that islamic world is waiting for. By the virtue of our births, people we are obligated to defend their religions and cultures. But the more complicated and unreasonable our culture is, the more difficult it gets for us to defend it. For most humans defending our cultures and religions is not all that difficult because, while we still repect and love our heritage, we have given up on the parts of our heritage that do not stand to reason. Muslims are obligated to defend anything that carries the Islamic tag. That is a huge burden. It is due to this burden that Lorraine Ali has to defend Niqab while she herself does not bear (or wear) one. That is the beginning of the catharsis.
