Islam PhobiaReader comment on item: There Are No Moderates: Dealing with Fundamentalist Islam Submitted by amoralis (United Kingdom), Sep 6, 2010 at 12:10 Historically, Islam phobia is as old as Islam. Most religions denigrate other religions to keep their adherents in the pan. Creating hatred against an other entity is the best way to unite. It is no different than governments or political parties spreading ills of their opponents/competitors. Islam phobia increased in leaps and bounds after the demise of the Soviet Union. West, especially, the US, needs a foe to justify the gargantuan expenditure on defence. With the inkling of the problems facing USSR, shortages of everything, unbelievable mismanagement of resources and with Afghan war, one could see the demise. I forecast in late '87 that the next foe of the West would be Islam. All my friends and foe laughed at me. My analyses were based on the premises that demise of USSR would destabilize the political balance of the world and the West/US would dominate. There is nothing unites people more than common hatred. It is human nature. In order for a soldier to kill the enemy the enemy has to be portrayed as an entity deprived of values that the soldiers values: dehumanization. West/US prefers to use Other People's Resources and keep its own lest they shall be needed in dire circumstances. It is good management. Why should I use my valuable time doing a chore that someone else can do with little loss to me? There are two main reasons to keep that area in turmoil: Mineral Resources and Russia. Russia is the main problem for the West/US because of Mineral Resources and political hegemony. The most tried and tested way to keep control of the place is to divide & rule. A united Muslim community of 1.2 billion people holding 85% of MR under their belt would be a formidable force to deal with: Fragment them. West/US economies are living on borrowed money and time. All of them have mismanaged their economies and now they are facing insolvency. History tells that the best method of defence is attack. Centrally Planned Economies forced West/US to yield to unnecessary demands of their workers, lest they shall rebel and topple like they did in Russia. Fall of the Soviet Union provided an unprecedented opportunity to the West/US for takeover and dominate. It did. From '93 to '00 the West/US virtually looted the meager resources of Eastern European countries. Education and Health of these countries suffered. Whatever meagre wealth majority had, it was passed to the minority, creating newly rich. People, especially in the US, started asking an important question: Who is the Enemy? Intellectuals and concerned citizens wanted the defence budget to be cut and that money was supposed to be used for the welfare of the ordinary people. Islam phobia had to be created.
