"Moderate Muslims" -Appeasement Of Global IslamReader comment on item: There Are No Moderates: Dealing with Fundamentalist Islam Submitted by steve jaubert (United States), Sep 14, 2010 at 16:51 I've read or heard the interviews with Iman Rauf related to Ground Zero and I'm convinced that the message he is sending is that moderates are willing to appease the world view of Islam that is the religious state agenda and jihad that essentially puts them in line with control by fundamentalism. He suggests in the interviews that on the one hand separation of church and state is a good move which conforms with the rules in America but then backsteps to suggest that 'moderate muslims' must consider the consequences of fundamentalism in moving Ground Zero related to problems in the past from fundamentalists-e.g the Danish Cartoons, and of course we all know about 9/11. One could list many numerous examples of such considerations. This kind of consideration sends a clear message to nonmuslims and other Americans that 'moderate muslims' are not their own voice but subscribe to a 'world view' that Rauf says muslims must consider. Why not stand as an Americans despite such threats that are nothing new and will not cease. Americans should not be controled by threat of mob terrorist actions. Thus the world view of adherence to the religious state style of Islam is the consideration the Iman believes 'moderates' must essentially acquiesce to and thus the contradictory view of religion and state of Islam versus America. They seem to want to have it both ways and exist peacefully here but keep the door open for fundamentalism by such actions and actions always speak louder than words. American religions of all other faiths understand that separation of church and state and with that in mind it will take more than words of appeasement and pumped up promises from 'moderate muslims' to convince other Americans that they want to coexist here without the historical baggage of violence and destruction and even genocide that haunts the Islamic religious state and immigration to the UK, France, Pakistan, Indonesia, etc. and now the US, as long as their appeasement continues toward fundamentalist Islam.
