Not out of the woods yet

I too am leery of the Dutch judges who may want to make their own 'law'. This would be quite consistent with their behaviour, and the mindset of 'judicial activism' that is alive and well as much in the Netherlands as in Canada. The perversity of some of the rulings is unreal. We had just last week an Ontario Apellate Court overturn a lower judge who ordered a Muslim woman witness to remove her veil in the courtroom. The new version of legal rights of the accused no longer grasps the importance to him (and the jury) of seeing the face of the accuser. Sick !
