Education in USA costs verses costs in AustraliaReader comment on item: Answering Khaled Abou El Fadl Submitted by Bishop Gabrielle Crofts (Australia), Jan 2, 2011 at 04:45 Dear Dr Daniel Pipes greetings from the land downunder. I am a supporter and avid reader of your works for many years indeed, you are an inspiration to many of us here. The costs in Australia for a Bachelor of Arts degree, I majored double major in Womens Studies and Politics, Philosophy and Sociology from Murdoch University cost me 22000 AUS for the three year equivalent of full time study, and my second degree was in Family Studies ( Social Work stream) which left me a debt to the Australian government all up around 20,000 for the three year degree equivalent. The government wont get the money as I cant find paid work. I would recommend American parents send their kids to Australia as we are not so left wing per se and not so politically incorrect, students do tend amongst themselves to gather at the guild pub or clubs and say what they really think, debate and argue, indeed one of my own fav past times as a student was to pick the minds of the most intelligent and change their perception from the prof knows all to the prof has an agenda and is following a certain line of reasoning and poke holes in that lol. The young are very naive and malleable that is why campus watch is also incredibly important , wish an aussie one was here. University of WA tends to be pro palestinian talks ad infinitum, appeasement, and pro islamic professors and very old tie network elites etc. The dollars calls the tune. Murdoch my Alma Mater was the opposite, working class students hard working parents and ability to think independently was respected. I loved my learning time at Murdoch University of the three universities it was best. On reflection thank GOD Curtin Social Worker lecturers are in a uni where they cant affect general public's lives. Curtin SW Dept has a dreadful reputation and deservedly so. Curtin was nothing short of a waste of time for me personally, I look back on it as a preparation for my life as a housewife from hell and wife and mum , Advocate and generally human rights advocate on a case by case pro bono basis as part of my Radical Itinerant Ministry. I cant get a job have accepted it and now focus on writing instead. Never go to curtin uni , they are so left leaning it is bordering on insanity and the professors ethics leave much to be desired. Again thank goodness the lecturers are there and not out in the real world destroying real people lives. The role of Universities in Australia is varied and yet to overseas students they flock here, the atmosphere is relaxed and english is the only language really they learn in. It is relatively a safer environment than anywhere else in the world . I applaud you Dr Pipes I recommend American parents choose the Australian Universities to send their kids to, less chance fo them being murdered or shot etc.Or brainwashed into moronic left wing appeasement. Sincerely Bishop Gabrielle Crofts A(USA)OCC Australia Submitting....
