MUHAMMAD IS NOT THE PROMISED COMFORTERReader comment on item: Islam and Democracy - Much Hard Work Needed Submitted by Nur el Masih Ben Haq (United States), Feb 24, 2011 at 11:35 The Gospel of John: WHY THE COMFORTER IS CERTAINLY NOT PROPHET MUHAMMAD The following logically prove beyond reasonable doubt that Prophet Muhammad is not the Comforter promised to Christ's disciples. (i). The Comforter would come in the life time of Christ's disciples; in fact before they depart Jerusalem (Acts 1:4-5, John 16:7)------Prophet Muhammad was born long after the Comforter must have come, i.e. 500 years later. (ii). The Comforter is not a physical being and can't be seen ordinarily (John 14:17)-------Prophet Muhammad was a physical being and ordinarily visible. (iii). The Comforter would come from Heaven directly from God (John 15:26)--------Prophet Muhammad, with due respect, was ordinarily born in this World to pagan parents; grew up ordinarily, became an employed trader etc before he eventually became the Prophet of Islam. (iv). The Comforter, according to Jesus himself, was that Holy Spirit which his disciples Knew because he (the Spirit) was with them and was going to dwell in their mind (14:17)------------Muhammad never leaved with Christ's disciples and he was a physical being who did not dwell in the mind. (v). The Comforter would be with Christ's disciples and, of course the subsequent faithful for ever (John 14:16)----------Muhammad has died long ago allegedly of food poisoning. (vi) As Jesus promised, the Comforter came to the disciples before they departed Jerusalem (Acts 2:3-4)---------Like I said earlier, Muhammad came a distant 6 generations later. SIMILARLY, MUHAMMAD WAS NOT PROPESISED IN THE BOOK OF DEUTERONOMY 18:18: God speaks to Moses saying in Deuteronomy 18 Vs 18: "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." This refers to Jesus and not Muhammad. The alleged resemblances as cited by Aliyu are not consistent and confined to the Prophet-hood, but extend to personality. PROPHETIC COMPARISMS: a. Both Moses and Jesus came in miraculous ways -------- Muhammad came in ordinary way. b. Both Moses and Jesus were Prophetic since infancy -------- Muhammad became a Prophet in adulthood after his trade work that took him to judeo-christian nations/communities c. Both Moses and Jesus spoke to God directly as prophets-------Muhammad communicated with Allah via angel Gabriel d. Powerful pagan kings tried to kill both Moses and Jesus to nip their prophet-hoods in their infancies ------ Muhammad was not threatened by any pagan force even in his youth. e. Both Moses and Jesus came from religious families ------ Muhammad came from a pagan family. f. Both Moses and Jesus had their prophethood characterized by WONDERFUL MIRACLE performances ------ No miracle performance in the Prophethood of Muhammad. g. Both Moses and Jesus used the Torah ------- Muhammad used the Qur'an. h. Moses had just a wife and Jesus had none ------- Muhammad had nine (9) wives at a time in addition to the concubines. i. Both Moses and Jesus were literate Prophets ------ Muhammad was reportedly not j. Both Moses and Jesus were FROM AMONG those promised ------ Muhammad came from Saudi Arabiya away from those promised. k. Both Moses and Jesus died in accordance with prophetic outline ------ Muhammad was killed by a Jewish women who poisoned him and it was not based on any prophetic schedule The Word 'FROM AMONG YOUR BRETHREN' Of course Arabs are brethren to Israelis. But the twelve tribes of Israel are more of brothers than the distant Arabs. Similarly, 'FROM AMONG YOU' implies from one of the twelve tribes of the Jews more than the distant Arabs. The following are other instances in which FROM AMONG YOUR BRETHREN is used: (i). Selection of a Jewish King "When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me; thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one FROM AMONG THY BRETHREN shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother. "(Deuteronomy 17:14-15) Would you say here that the Jews were being asked to go the Saudi Arabiya etc and look for an Arab king? Obviously not! So, FROM AMONG THY BRETHREN means your fellow Israeli. And the King they so selected was a Jew. (ii). The Priests/Levites Among the Jews "… Therefore shall they have no inheritance AMONG THEIR BRETHREN: the Lord is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them." (Deuteronomy 18:1-2) (iii) Caring for the Poors "... If there be among you a poor man of one OF THY BRETHREN within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, …. "(Deuteronomy 15:7) 2. The book of Deuteronomy chapter 18:19 states: "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not harken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him." This has nothing to do with Muhammad as explained above. SIMILARLY, Muhammad (pbuh) is NEVER prophesised in the book of Isaiah 29:12 Muslims 'cleverly' quote, "And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned." And claim that it refers to Muhammad simply because Muhammad too was not learned. What a desperate 'daawah'! This is a prophecy of woe on Ariel, the city of David. It has nothing to do with Muhammad or his time. In fact, Isaiah 29:12 was actually a twin illustrative event that began from verse 11. Isaiah 29:11-12 reads, So Isaiah 29:12 is half of the twin event which is 29:11-12 and it refers to the vision on woe on Ariel which the people failed to understand. So, this lack of understanding of theirs was likened to giving a SEALED book to both learned and unlearned persons; which ever way, the book can't be read. Reason: It is SEALED or the one asked to read lack understanding or both. You can complete the reading to vs 19, where it ends. Submitting....
