Arguing of US inaction

Your analysis of the situation is perfectly correct. The US should not get involved in the Syrian unrest. By now the US should have realised that after trying to bring some semblance of civility and order in the lives of the Iraqis, Afghans, Libyans and Egyptians nothing has not worked. The people of those countries have continued to be as barbaric as they were prior to the help rendered them by the US and its Allies. Unfortunately, the Americans have not learnt their lesson.

Today, with the US and European economies in shambles, it would be unwise to get involved in a country whose population hates the West with a passion yet desires to get maximum mileage by screaming for compassion. They should be allowed to settle their internal strife on their own. Any aid given to them will only help in ousting Assad but will not cause a change of heart towards the West and its allies. On the contrary it will help Syrians to regroup after Assad's ouster to once again harass the West and its allies.
