Focusing on what we are FORReader comment on item: Syria: Arguing for U.S. Inaction Submitted by Demsci (Netherlands), Feb 29, 2012 at 08:27 The one characteristic of Muslims I admire is that they overwhelmingly seem to know what they are FOR. They are FOR Islam, it's power, it's Quran, it's prophet. The other "ordinary" humans (ordinary as opposed to the "special" Muslims, I hate describing humans as non-Muslims, describing them by what they are NOT), they seem to be non-plussed about what they are for in comparison, they seem be primarily AGAINST something, like Islam-domination. But if Islam's surge to more power since 1973 is seen as a wake-up-call then it should have the effect that ordinary humans in opposition to Islam formulate what they are FOR and this should be all good democratic values and laws and human rights. And this should be accompanied by a clear name, say Democratic Citizen, Demsci perhaps. Just like a Muslim proudly declares him/herself Muslim, let Democratic Citizens declare the same. Let Democratic Citizens also declare they prefer that the whole world becomes in favor of Democratic values and laws and human rights. And when they do know what they are FOR, in the 21st century, then let the policy of Democratic Nations unfurl accordingly. Let there be United Democratic Nations in opposition to Russia, China, Iran etc. Let us focus on the minds of as many people as possible, in the West, Syria everywhere on what we are FOR, and let this time, all totalitarians, and Islamists try to stop us, instead of us trying to stop them.
