Westeern Imperialism No longer a Valid ExcuseReader comment on item: Syria: Arguing for U.S. Inaction Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Mar 5, 2012 at 18:54 And once again we see the focus of the ummah is desiring to dominate Israel's place in the world, ostensibly for the Islamic revolution to obtain the universal caliphate. While it is not obvious to some as we see here that the Arab League is complicit in the process, we wonder why is it not so obvious to some? To start, western imperialism is dead, any semblance of a former colonialist mentality of exploitation long ago lost to the return to a feudalist societal strata as a result of the infusion of a secularist socialist reformation of most modern societies that allowed the hyper-wealthy, including many listed in the Arab world, to continue doing business while the former democratically constituted national entities try to deal with collapsing economies. Taxation to support the socialists' agendas is depleting the middle class. Now what is evidently not apparent to some who have expectations of the collapse of the west is that their dream of an ummah, while by some intentions is exactly what the world needs, is also going to be the proximal cause of the global community failing under shari'a due to an inherent misunderstanding of why Islam cannot solve the world's ills. If one still wonders why, just ask Turkey to explain the collapse of the Ottoman empire. Syria is right next to Turkey; and if that's not enough to wonder why Israel is preparing for war, ask why Turkey is willing to be the regional replacement of the Islamic presence on the Med. But when the answer comes, just remember; they will not be alone. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
