Future of IslamismReader comment on item: Predicting Middle Eastern Politics Submitted by stevias (United States), May 12, 2012 at 18:51 It is clear that in Egypt, Libya. Yemen and soon in Syria, there will be Islamist fanatics led governments. There will come a day when the west will look longingly upon the days of despots and artificially appointed megalomaniac monarchs. The damage that the Islamic extremist governments will do will throw the region either in to turmoil (unless they can, like China, find a way to combine their ideology with capitalist benefits) or copy cat terror states like Iran. What a model they have set. Of course, if the west can possibly keep out of the equation, they will likely attack each other for their Islamist preferences.
