Reader comment on item: Why I Am Voting Republican

Submitted by Amitabh Tripathi (India), Nov 5, 2012 at 07:36

The oldest democracy of the world is being keenly watched by the people of the largest democracy of the world . In last few decades relations between India and US has prospered and flourished to such extent where it was not being thought for almost four decades of independence of India. The end of cold war and some other factors forced Indian leadership to be more open towards US and in the beginning of 21 century the threat of Islamist aggression bind us together more and more.

People of India as well as Media is eagerly watching the campaign and election process in US . We as a nation are committed for the continuation of good relations between two great democracies irrespective of poll results but people have taken their side and interesting conversations are going on for the prospects of the global scenario with every possibility of the winning of the any of both. Personally I have been strong advocate for strong relations between India, US and Israel as we all are common not only with threats we face but with some values as well. I hope if Republicans win over this battle the process of strong Indo US relations will accelerate and India and US will be more comfortable and assertive as well as unapologetic towards Israel to defend its interests on international fora. But till date we have the information that both candidates are caught in tight race and repeat of 2000 elections are the most probable outcome.
