MoralsReader comment on item: Why I Am Voting Republican Submitted by Guy C Dashnea (United States), Nov 6, 2012 at 14:43 It is commendable that a person aspire to, and believe in the core values of the Republican Party. Unfortunately each of those core values are worthless without the moral conduct of those espousing those values. Individualism without regard and empathy for your neiighbor is. according to the Good Book, is immoral and greedy. Exceptionalism as a country is something we all are fortunate to be a part of. Exceptionalism as an individual is inherent in every human being. The weak and the strong, The intellegencia and the simple man, The forceful and the meek. The immorality of exceptionalism is when the strong, bully the weak, The intellegencia decieves the simple man, and the forceful takes advantage of the meek. The immorality of the Republican Party is that their conduct for more than one hundred and fourty years ignored the Christian values of their rhetoric. For one hundred and fourty two years of the Republic party America was a "Dog eat Dog" society, Small government, no one watching he hen house. Human rights and civil rights were ignored. It wasn't until Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Democrats gained control of the Government. that this country became livible for the common man. In the last seventy years the Republicans have chipped away at the Democrats core values that all that is left of what REALLY made this country great is sociel security. We are now back in the Robber Barons age. Dog eat Dog. ...
