alternate facts attractReader comment on item: Debating Press TV - And Much More Submitted by myth (Germany), Jan 10, 2013 at 09:03 Conspiracy theories, alternative facts distributed by alternate sources of information attract a wide audience. Much wider than one would believe. Like this conspiracy theory: US soldiers turn terrorist, the vice president reveals himself as a war criminal, the US government plotting to assassinate a member of congress, excessive surveillance on ordinary citizens. That is the portrait as painted by popular tv series "homeland". Luckily Barrett and Iosbaker lack the entertainment skills of US tv. They are barely eloquent enough for a propaganda channel such as PressTV. Are they "worth the trouble"? Does Daniel Pipes' participation in discussion decorate them with credibility or equal status? Avoiding such a discussion does greater damage, I believe. Barrett and Iosbacker endorse alternate facts but they are open to talks, crossing verbal swords. Those who go beyond that, who pursue actively an alternate future, turn out to be far more dangerous and out of reach.
