Interesting "Hagelian Dialectic' FantasyReader comment on item: When AIPAC Went AWOL Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Mar 4, 2013 at 15:54 All very heady and erudite philosophical (Hagelian Dialectic) meanderings; yet the issues on the ground in the Middle East comport to a much more pragmatic (and less esoteric) form of the circumstances being observed. Since the Cairo speech of 2009, the shape of Middle eastern politics have shifted as dramatically as they did in May 1948. Then, a fledgling national upstart turned the Middle East into a perennial war zone, inciting the already incited Arab/'Palestinian' sensibilities to further exacerbated antipathies; that while a certain amount of 'diplomacy' seemed to provide some respite, ultimately the passions against Israel's survival always seemed to rule the undercurrent of the majority thought of much of the rest of the world. The Jewish presence of mind in the Diaspora seemed (and still seems) bifurcated in regard to the Jewish presence in the world: true patriotism even away from the land of promise and an expatriate sense that seeks anonymity as a shield for peace in a world that to this day is still mystified about the sons of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In this state of mind of not understanding the Jewish destiny, the mindset of those like John Kerry and Charles Hagel need to be understood in the context of the time we find ourselves being propelled into. It is interesting that the labeling of 'H[a]gelian' Dialectic is inserted; for the subliminal thought is that the United States, in the manner of republican governments before it, is now in its transformation away from the rational basis of its inception. The replacement government now being instituted by Chief Executive edit in the absence of any vibrant legislative or judicial interpretations of the United States Constitution quite easily steers one's observance of such things into how a citizen of one form of government adjusts, if possible, to another without surrendering the individualistic freedom once guaranteed by the honor of prior agreements to lawful rule. Strange as it may seem, dependent upon one's philosophical approach to things of world view and embracing the cosmological rational of historical dispensations, one might come to an understanding that the Biblical narrative of the rule of man appears contradictory to human logic. IN example, Israel started as a theocracy; then to a kingdom; then to servitude; then reborn to a democracy; then reestablished to a theocratic regency, the Kingdom of Almighty God through Israel's Messiah. Only then does the statement-[I]n the 'Hagelian' schema, Israel is the thesis, [Candidate] Obama the antithesis, and the Pentagon (this observation's insertion being NATO), the synthesis-seems to make sense. That being said, both Hagel and Kerry are already in action mode to take advantage of the aftermath of the 'Arab Uprising's' changing dynamics in the Middle East and they continue to form the basis of the 'new Middle East' as envisioned by many. Another aspect is the change occurring in Roma when the new Pontiff will be seen to assert some kind of role from an ecclesiastical posture. Roma, after all, has not lost any of its intentions of exerting some frame of influence over Jerusalem in the immediate future. How that will fare remains to be seen. For those of us who have a clue, it becomes more interesting trying to wait to see what happens next…… Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
