Mind-bendingReader comment on item: When AIPAC Went AWOL Submitted by john w. mcginley (United States), Mar 5, 2013 at 17:13 Mr. Pipes! This was one of your better and stranger, both, postings. Machiavellian (sp?). I suspect that Mr. Hagel has been tamed by the process. And, to a lesser extent, President Obama himself. One of the very good dimensions on all of this is the military strength of Israel and the fact that Israel, if needed, will take care of Itself. Further, whoever goes up against Israel will "give" more than it will receive. Speaking of Machiavellian. Do you recall that Israeli Intelligence in the US had uncovered the 9//11 plot about two days before 9/11. My understanding is that the information was relayed to the Bush Administration at some level lower than the President himself. The US people who received this would not act on this (or even report on this to the President) until US Intelligence could verify such. ((There appeared to be a sense that the US officials involved did not want to be beholden to Israel and, as well, were "po-d" that Israeli Intelligence was so much ahead of US Intelligence.)) Of course, all this delay -- and not wanting Israel to take the credit resulted in having no time to thwart the well-planned strike. anything to this? Hegel's "Dialectic" was influential but in point of fact it was third-rate Philosophy. Don't worry about HAgelian Dialectic. He is totally beholden to Obama. But, it is true that if Obama goes anti-Israeli in a big way -- and he just might -- Hagel will do all the foot-work and more to please that narcissist.
