Implications for Western capitals

Dear Mr Pipes,

Very interesting. The developments in Turkey will additionally have to cause a reassessment in Western capitals: Who will now be our preferred partner in ME? We lost Mubarak, and the "Spring" has produced nothing near a Nelson Mandela. Europe/US could pretend for a while...

In western capitals, something will have to replace the prominence of the 'moderate muslim leader-strategy' which by now must have lost its credibility. That is probably a piece of good news too...?
