Islam's history chokes Turkey

I have a lot respect for the ordinary Turk, who despite violent destruction of it's former empire , several bad or indifferent leaders, the Turk stands up to be counted rather than retreat back to the middle ages. This present phase of the Sunni - Shite war , that really began with release of Ayatolah Khomeni, is an object lesson for the Turk, or The West [including my Australia] why not get involved into events that cannot be controlled .Syria has either been the catalyst for conflict or the cockpit for it.

As for Turkey , history shows that a long tenure in power by a strongman is followed by several weak governments. Turkey will have to restructure it's institutions before normality returns.
