Gary Sack is 100% rightReader comment on item: The Good News in Turkey Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jun 5, 2013 at 00:28 Dear Dr Pipes, Reader Gary Sack outlined it absolutely correctly. He said that what is happening in Turkey is the opposite of Arab spring. Sack is right because in Turkey people are challenging the Islamists. I believe that what is happening in Turkey is the harbinger of what will happen in EVERY islamic society in a few years (say 2 decades). The social, religious, and political doctrines that fundamentalist Islams recommends are anti non-muslims but, even more so, they are anti progress. With these backward policies Islamic world will fail to compete against the free world. In non-Islamic democracies (like Western Europe and India) fundamentalist Muslims blame majority communities for their plight. In Islamic-majority nations, they blame the United States and the West for their plight. They never blame themselves. But the truth will catch up with them. Truth will catch up with them not because I say so or you say so; it will catch up with them because these countries will not be able to sustain their economies just as communist countries could not sustain theirs. If oil-wealth had not helped them, the entire Islamic world would have looked like Somalia and Sudan (hard truth but a truth nevertehless). So the best thing for our planet is if Islamists come to power in every Islamic country and fail. The sooner they fail, the sooner good times will come. On the other hand if they do not come to power, they will keep blaming everyone else. Submitting....
