My answer to Mr. Prashant

First, without providing any evidence, Banerjee states that many dissenters of Islam were lured by money and not conviction.

Have you thought the fact that Salman Rushdie won the booker prize. Is that not the lure of money ? Have you considered the fees that Walid Shoebat and Nonie Darwish charges ?? Do you know that Taslima Nasreen has got more than 3 houses in the West ? Are you aware of that Ayan Hirsi Ali was a former MP in the Dutch parliament and currently married to the millionaire author Niall Ferguson ? If these are not signs of lure by money then I do not know what constructs greed ?

I have seen more conviction in Darwish, Ali, Rushdie, Nasrin and Shoebat than almost any Islamic scholar.

I can consider your views seriously only when I see Shoebat and Darwish condemning the killing of innocent Iraqi children by US sanctions and calling for people like Clinton , Bush and Cheney to be tried for War criminals.

I can only consider your views seriously when I see Ibn Warraq , Shoebat and Darwish asking the US to bring to justice Ariel Sharon , the butcher of Sabra and Shattila.

I can take your views seriously only when I see Ayan Hirsi Ali condemning the cold-blooded murder of Ibragim Todasev and Anwar Al-Awlaki.

I can only take your views seriously only when Taslima Nasreen and Salman Rushdie goes on to condemn the cold-blooded murder of innocent Pakistani and Yemeni children by US drones.

In fact, I have not found much conviction in any modern Islamic scholars.

Or may be you have never read about any modern Islamic scholars. Have you read Syed Qutb , Mohammad Iqbal , Jamal Al-Afghani , Syed Nursi or even say Imam Khomenini ? Probably not.

To summarize you did not even understand why did I bring up the names of Manning , Assange or Snowden. I have been hearing in this particular forum for so many years that Islam is intolerant towards dissenters. Now the behavior of the Western regimes towards their own dissenters like Manning and Snowden (the real dissenters) not those profit-minded so-called "Muslim dissenters" .
