From a Moslem terrorist's point of view...Reader comment on item: On Closed Embassies, the Worldwide Travel Alert, and Wimpitude Submitted by Ianus (Poland), Aug 3, 2013 at 23:09 Since 1945 the US has consistently and single-mindedly financed, armed and supported jihad and Moslem terrorism worldwide. (See R. Dreyfus' excellent study "Devil's Game: How the United States Helped Unleash Fundamentalist Islam".) This strategic alliance has never been denounced or stopped. Once it was devised as a potent tool to fight the USSR , communism and Arab nationalism. Nowadays it is being used to export chaos - the new US grand strategy - in places like the Balkans, Libya and Syria and a great potential instrument to hit America's main global enemy - China in Eastern Turkiestan or Uyghuristan. Why should America simply abandon such an asset ? Why should it engage in fighting its own Frankenstein while it needs him so badly to settle a number of pressing issues it can't settle alone ? Now if you look at it from a Moslem terrorist's point of view , then closing down embassies is a message of good will and a hand stretched out towards the old friend and ally. I am sure all Moslem terrorists raised by America will understand and appreciate the message . They also need their old CIA friends to win in Syria and other places and after all the US is not the only kafir on earth. China is another one and unlike the US it does fight Moslem terrorism.

Daniel Pipes replies: The US government has been much softer on the Islamist movement than it should have been, but that is not the same as pinning responsibility on it for this movement. Dreyfuss is flat wrong to the extent he does so. Reader comments (63) on this item
