I actually support a cut to aidReader comment on item: On Closed Embassies, the Worldwide Travel Alert, and Wimpitude Submitted by Debanjan Banerjee (India), Aug 18, 2013 at 10:19 In fact not only cut to aid I say I do not want any kind of economic relationship between the West and the Muslim world. The Western arms industry is the biggest benefactor of these relationships. Saudi and other countries buy billions of dollars in Western military junk which should have been used to better causes like education , infrastructure creation but thanks to Western meddling they are not able to spend it in good purposes. Think about this. If Saudi would have been a democracy then that same amount of money would be invested in education , health , agriculture , infrastructure and considering the small population in the GCC the surplus could well be spent in countries like Egypt , Sudan , Libya , Lebanon and Jordan. In fact that same amount of money would have been possible to do something better for Palestinian refugees. But thanks to Western intervention in Saudi , Saudi is an absolute monarchy and spends those billions to fill up the coffer of the Western military industries. I blame the West and Israel for this problem. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
