Daniel; You are of course correct. But striking Iran seems to require a level of courage not seen in the US halls of power in some time. We chose Iraq rather than Iran because it was perceived to be a softer nut to crack. When Iran was shipping ever more powerful IED's into Iraq to kill our men, we did nothing. Every IED that could be shown (as was indeed the case) to come from Iran should have led to escalating retaliation. We did nothing! So now we shall attack Syria. Helpless vs US air power. And to hell with the consequences. And if miscalculation starts a regional Middle East war or an exchange with Russian warships, what the heck. In the 2008 campaign, BHO said repeatedly he would dramatically increase energy costs. Could this be part of the plan? Middle East conflict could quickly see 50%+ increases in Oil/gas prices.
