Why Iran?
Reader comment on item: Forget Syria, Target Iran

Can someone enlighten me on these points?
- Isn't Iran a natural ally to the US and Israel (forget about the trash talk) in a region of extreme Islamists?
- What interpretation of Islam caused 9/11 and all the evil done in Afghanistan, Pakistan and now Syria? Iranian or (Saudi sponsored ) Wahabism and Salafism?
- What are Iran's crimes? Being Islamist or threatening American hegemony in the region? Is an independent and successful Iran a bad model for all the lazy Gulf countries?
- Do you realy believe that a nuclear Iran is a treat to Israel or Amercian hegemony?
