The true reasons of the war in Syria!Reader comment on item: Forget Syria, Target Iran Submitted by Gregoris Gregoriou (Cyprus), Sep 9, 2013 at 22:40 Dear Mr Pipes, The true reasons of the war in Syria have absolutely Nothing to do with human rights... The UAE and the Saudis are pressing hard the US to get into another war for their double benefit : Getting their Oil and especially their Gas to the European market while, at the same time, destroying any potentials of a strong and wealthy Israel depending only on its own Oil and Gas exports! Perhaps some people in the White House really need those petrodollars... Perhaps some people in the White House don't want a strong and independent Israel... Talking about Human Rights in Syria while supporting jihadist/salafist terrorists is such a Hypocrisy... If the USA really wants to make a difference and really support the Human Rights and Security in this region , perhaps it's time for them to join forces with Russia and turn their heads towards the real threat : Al Qaeda (recently renamed by the "Arab Spring") and the Iranian nuclear program... Thank you Mr Pipes
