Linkage theory or peace-process gravy train?Reader comment on item: "Kerry Is Just Not in Touch with Reality" Submitted by PezDispenser (Israel), Jan 14, 2014 at 15:45 What other region can diplomats confidently build an entire career upon? New Zealand and their cow methane emissions? Nothing interesting goes on in South America. North America is at peace. China and Russia are too damn hard. Botswana? Nah, the rest of the world is just too boring. Seriously, there's nothing else for them to do, this conflict is evergreen (i.e. a constant flow of work, media mentions and nice hotel stays) and seen as a status symbol for those involved in "peace processing." Am I being too cynical?

But there are other problems that could take up a SecState's time: the Koreans and India-Pakistan for starters. Reader comments (35) on this item
