Kerry is in touch with reality but prefers a PC fantasy world.Reader comment on item: "Kerry Is Just Not in Touch with Reality" Submitted by Moderate Pragmatist (United States), Sep 3, 2016 at 23:16 Dear Dr. Pipes, This is a quote from Rush L.--- Kerry was speaking at a press availability, said, "No country is immune from terrorism. It's easy to terrorize. Government and law enforcement have to be correct 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. But, if you decide one day you're going to be a terrorist and you're willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise. Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn't cover it quite as much. People wouldn't know what's going on." Informational source for this comment which I highly recommend: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/08/30/kerry_to_media_stop_covering_terrorism There you have it! The archetypal elite leftist protecting us from the truth because it is at odds with a globalist agenda. Dr. Pipes, I'm not sure if this should be a comment, blog entry or something else because I think that the secretary of state giving a suggestion to the media to not report the truth is noteworthy. Our democracy is systematically being eroded. Mr Kerry seems to think that the media calling our attention to the continual increase of Islamic terrorism is worse than the actual terrorism. "Those Islamophobic anti Islamist media people are such party poopers!" is what Mr. Kerry seems to be thinking. Meanwhile the bodies continue to pile up. People continue to live in fear. Kerry also said, "its easy to terrorize." It's especially easy to terrorize a country with open borders whose leadership wants to bury their heads in the sand and pretend a war on terror does not exist. It's easy to terrorize when a country is governed by PC ideologues. Leave it to Kerry to give people like us such low hanging fruit! Thanks for your continued dedication. ...

Daniel Pipes replies: Conor Cruise O'Brien imposed a ban on publicity on political violence while Margaret Thatcher called it the "oxygen of terrorism," so this approach has an honorable history.
