I Potentially Could Take this Choice Too, but Would Not

I am very happy that acquiring Polish citizenship has made Dr. Pipes happy, and I wish him all the best with his newfound rights and priveleges. I personally come from a similar family background, but all I hear of Poland are stories of massacres and betrayals by the native Catholic population. I have been taught to view it as a point of pride to have "quit" Poland.

I do like Polish food and culture and in some ways I identify with people I have known who are Polish citizens, but I still harbor a great deal of resentment toward the country and the people in whose midst the Holocaust was committed. That is just my personal opinion, and I do sincerely wish Dr. Pipes a new found level of happiness at this recent turn of events.
