Yes, Krakow is very English friendly and one can learn both Polish and English at many schools in Krakow. My wife and I live in Krakow.

Catholics and Poles in general should not be placed in a category of being racists or to be blamed for the ills of all wars in Poland. This is akin to calling Nazi camps in Poland as Polish camps. Go to the Jewish festival in Krakow in early July to witness this.

Eating Polish food and telling a Pole that you are Polish really is an irritation to many of us. You can have Polish background but do not place these two items in the same context when speaking on this subject.

I am proud to be Polish and that is why I am a polish citizen. There is a historical dislike for Poles and one can see this by the constant debate in the states for visas and for partition of Poland at the end of WWII.
