Dear Daniel

As an academic 'something to do', I put my partner on the trail of the similarity between Islam and George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four, about a month ago, and suggest she write a book on the subject of 'The Second Sex and Islam'. She has decided to call it 'The Invisible Sex'. As a PhD in French Studies she is very conversant with pure academic argument and how semiotics and hermeneutics can change the peer critic's perspective of a written piece. In other words 'the agenda'.

Frankly, the whole smorgasbord of UK Islamic reality is giving her the horrors: as when Neo woke up in the liquid filled incubator after he took the red pill, in 'The Matrix'. Alice has just realised how far the rabbit hole goes... "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", as Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz. Some have just woken up from the 'Collective Unconscious Denial', as C J Jung might have put it.

Now the trouble is that she is concerned about becoming an instant British publishing house pariah. Who is going to publish her when it is already impossible to find a copy of 'Muhammed's Girls', by Lars Hedegaard? Can you find me a source? I've already bought her about 20 books on Islam in the last month and I'm not finished yet. She is stunned at the information.

Don't you think Tehmina Kazi should have stood her ground over the Tablighi Jamaat mega-mosque in Newham, East London? I have written to her asking to reconsider her withdrawal, as the voice of 'sane youth'.
