Mostly ReassuringReader comment on item: Are Millions Worldwide Protesting Israeli Actions? Submitted by Alex (United States), Jul 19, 2014 at 23:23 Thank you to Dr. Pipes for a reassuring article. I would make two supplemental points: 1) Anti-Israel protests to the current IDF action in Gaza have been small, but at least one of them has marked an historical turning point, in France, where--as with ISIS takeover of the Iraqi city of Mosul--a smaller band of even more radicalized individuals attempted a pogrom at a Paris synagogue, prompting the usually pro-Arab French government to ban Pro-Palestinian protests in subsequent days. 2) I suspect that the relative ineffectiveness of HAMAS in killing Israelis during its recent rocket attacks has dampened the sense of confidence that Pro-Palestinian radicals secretly draw from terrorist attacks. Ditto for the effect of Israel's decision to send ground troops into Gaza. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
