Can Bibi hold off the shame until AFTER Tesha b'Av?Reader comment on item: Pushing for a Hamas-Israel Ceasefire Submitted by Michael S (United States), Jul 30, 2014 at 14:20 I wonder if Mr. Netanyahu is contemplating a withdrawal from Gaza on Aug. 4 of 5 -- in remembrance of Tesha b'Av, of course. When Ariel Sharon ordered the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza, almost exactly nine years ago, he had the decency to wait a day so the expulsion wouldn't fall on Tesha b'Av. Perhaps Bibi can do the same, and allow what is sure to become the most shameful day in Israeli history (God forbid) also fall on the day after, Aug. 6. Then Jews can start the custom of fasting on TWO CONSECUTIVE days. May God's curse fall on whoever makes these things happen.
